Goals of the Course:

  1. Explore strategies that will assist educators in identifying and implementing motivational techniques.

  2. Identify and study characteristics of motivated educators.

  3. Identify and learn new techniques of working with people and colleagues.

  4. Develop effective listening and communicating skills.


Requirements of Course:

Participants will be required to contribute a minimum of 15 hours per credit hour.

Anyone taking ESW 548 must complete exercise one and write a reflection paper.  Reflection papers may be written over readings and exercises.

A     Grade          Complete 15 additional reflection papers.

B     Grade          Complete 12 reflection additional reflection papers.

C     Grade          Complete 9 additional  reflection papers.

D     Grade          Complete 6 additional reflection papers.

F      Grade          Complete no work


Reflection Papers:   1-2 pages

Basically a statement or opinion regarding a reading or exercise in the handout.  The handout has 10 readings and 15 exercises.

The Following should be included:

  1. Title of reading or exercise.

  2. Message of the reading or exercise.

  3. Reactions to the reading or exercise.

  4. General value of the reading or exercise.

  5. General statements regarding the reading or exercise.

ALL FINAL PAPERS MUST BE TYPED

Papers Due:

Five weeks after completing enrollment form.
